A.C. (in Italiano): Nel 2006, qualche mese prima della morte di Roger Keith Barrett, al secolo Syd Barrett, mi sono ritrovato a scrivere una canzone su di lui.
Non è la prima canzone che scrivo ... tutt'altro ... ma è la prima volta che scrivo una canzone esplicitamente dedicata a una persona famosa.
Vista la mia grande passione per Roger Waters, sarebbe stato più logico che l'ispirazione mi guidasse a scrivere una canzone su Waters, prima.
Ma sono anche un fan di Syd Barrett, e tutti sappiamo quanto la 'presenza' di Syd sia ritrovabile in tutte le opere dei Pink Floyd, nei testi di Waters.
Come tutti voi, sono fan di Syd perchè Syd era un autore straordinario, e perchè è stato una scintillante meteora.
Come molti altri, ho pensato spesso a Syd da quando ho appreso la storia della sua vita.
Quando Roger Keith Barrett è trapassato, ho provato sincero dolore ...
Da allora, però, la mia canzone su di lui non è cambiata. Ho trovato naturale non aggiornare il testo.
La sua morte fisica non ha cambiato troppo le cose.
Dopo alcuni mesi dalla sua creazione, ho finalmente deciso di presentare questa mia canzone.
Si tratta anche della prima canzone mia presentata a un vasto pubblico. Sono quindi emozionato.
Spero che "(There's) A Man In Cambridge" emozioni anche voi.

A.C. (in English): In 2006, some months before the death of Roger Keith Barrett, known as Syd Barrett, I found myself composing a song about him.
It is not my first song ... really not ... but it is the first time that I write a song explicitly dedicated to a famous person.
With my great passion for Roger Waters, it would have been more logical for my inspiration to guide me in writing a song about Waters, first.
But I'm also a Syd Barrett fan, and we all know how the 'presence' of Syd can be found in all Pink Floyd's works, in Waters' lyrics.
As all of you, I'm a fan of Syd because Syd was an extraordinary author, and because he has been a shining meteor.
As many others, I often thought of Syd, since I learned the story of his life.
When Roger Keith Barrett passed away, I felt sincere sorrow ...
But since that time, my song about him hasn't changed. I felt natural not to update the lyrics.
His physical death hasn't changed things too much.
After several months from creation, I've finally decided to present this song of mine.
It is even my first song presented to a large audience. So I am excited.
I hope that "(There's) A Man In Cambridge" will excite you too.
